To my thoughts,
man was not made solid,
not in the beginning of things.
While not quite light, human was possessed
of a water like, and almost light nature.
Even physicists of today cannot
identify the essential truth
or nature of water.

Solidity began with the naming
of things (Biblical imperatives
acknowledged)
for in the naming of things,
we own them, and their nature
becomes the solid, the firm, the identifiable.
Just so, when I say, that is the field,
then I become the field,
am plowed and planted, fecund, ripe. Waiting.

So we become the transiting ones.
We alone can see our beginnings and end, (cows, dogs and
birds have no need for Tuesdays, or yesterday
and two o-clock).
It is us that have been stuck with
the job of ordering, and being particular.
Luminosity suffers for all of this.
Density persists, and we are weighted down
by the name we give to it.
