...how a star so bright...

Poem To A Lucky Guy
Liking you a little less than love
Where I sit a sea away, you cannot scorn me,
Boy with hairs around your neck and brow
For seeking smiles through a park and wishing
For another when the dark moves the leaves
To make a rustling, lonely sound.
So I expect that when I miss your burly head
You miss me more perhaps, and that is fair.
Such is why I stamp my foot
And throw a pillow from the chair
When I learn you like me less than love
Or love me only when I'm there.
