Sophia

Oh, Sophia, when I see you in the morning,
Blonde hair streaming 'round you like the first rays of the sun.
Tripping down the staircase just as the day is dawning,
Blue eyes, just awakened, chasing laughter on the run.

Look out the window.
The sun comes rising up to greet the day.

And when I tell you of all the ways I love you,
You smile sweetly, kiss my cheek, quickly run away.
Come sit down beside me and I'll read you one more story,
'Bout knights or pirates, kings and queens, or mares of dapple gray.

Look out the window.
The sun comes rising to greet the day.

Come cuddle in my arms and tell me of your evening's dreaming,
Of scary things beneath your bed that flee before the dawn.
We'll laugh away the darkness as we weave a few more memories
Into a golden comforter that warms me when you're gone.

Look out the window.
The sun comes rising up to greet the day.
